Business Support Programmes for BID members

Expense Reduction, Free Recycling and 2010 Rate Revaluation Support

BIDs are about businesses helping each other. The purpose of our organisation is to support the companies in the Hammersmith Town Centre and add value to its members

Across the UK companies are feeling the effects of the global economic downturn and the new 2010 business rates revaluation - and Hammersmith is no different. Many local businesses are experiencing challenges and impacts as a result of the recession and the rate increases.

We have listened to the concerns of many of our colleagues operating businesses in Hammersmith and, in response, have explored a range of business support services for the local BID companies.

We would like to provide additional support to the struggling businesses through:

1. Expense Reduction Programme – BID businesses are being urged to try and slash their bills, through our cost reduction pilot programme in collaboration with ERA. Click here to see more details

2. Free Recycling Programme – BID businesses are offered free recycling through our collaboration with First Mile. This is a service that most London businesses have to pay for but our scheme is at no cost to them and saves some Hammersmith businesses enough in one year to completely offset the BID levy. 3. Rate Revaluation Support Programme – BID businesses are advised on dealing with a preferred rating advisor for Hammersmith - Colliers CRE, a national firm of commercial property consultants, in exploring opportunities to potentially minimize their rates liability following the 2010 significant increase in RV or Material Change of Circumstance.
