What's On

St John's Smith Square - La Nuova Musica

La Nuova Musica's first visit to St John's Smith Square will be on St Cecilia's day, to celebrate the Patron Saint of Music. They will be performing an overture by Handel and two odes devoted to her; by Purcell, Welcome to all the Pleasures and by John Blow, Begin the Song. There is no recorded performance of the Blow, neither is there a decent edition. We have therefore asked the Blow scholar Caroline Ritchie to prepare an edition, and hope to record it next year!
The other half of the programme is devoted to the young Handel during his time in Rome. The wonderful Lucy Crowe joins us to perform the Gloria and Laudate Pueri II.

Tarsus Quiz Charity Evening

On Wednesday 26th November at Stamford Bridge a corporate quiz night hosted by Tarsus Exhibitions will take place.
Tables start at £500 for a team of 10 people – this includes 3 drinks per person (then cash bar), a light dinner and the quiz entertainment.  And the best thing is that the charity that benefits from all of this is The Broadway, a local Hammersmith homeless charity, so it’s keeping everything in the community.  If you or your company is interested in purchasing a table (maybe as an early festive celebration for your staff) please contact Heidi Williams on 0208 846 2732 or
hwilliams@tarsus.co.uk.
