We’ve changed our name!
…and the way we look!
From now on HammersmithLondon is what you will see, hear and say with anything to do with this Business Improvement District (BID). The fresh new HammersmithLondon logo with its brand colours is now used consistently throughout all our new stationary and branding materials from answering the phone, office stationary, business cards to all and any publicity.

We have two new staff members
HammersmithLondon would like to welcome
The two new team members started in August 2007. Patricia comes from the London Chamber of Commerce and brings extensive local knowledge and experience in dealing with businesses. Elena has previously worked for the Holborn BID and a Business Partnership in

We are also proud to present our brand new website! We wanted to make something anyone could use and we think we accomplished that. Just take a look and let us know what you think. Your feedback and suggestions would be more than welcome!
When did this happen?
The official launch of the new branding was a wonderful event which took place on Wednesday, 19th September 2007 at the Lyric Hammersmith. More than 130 employees from BID companies attended a fun reception on the Lyric terrace followed by a stupendous performance of The Bacchae, September’s London ‘must see’ play starring Tony award-winner, Alan Cumming.
Thank you to everybody who attended and helped to make it such a success – if you didn’t make this event, try not to be too disappointed! We will be arranging a whole variety of events and activities for you from now on – keep a look out for ‘What’s On Info’ in all our newsletters.

Enjoy the beautiful tree planters
After consultation with TFL, Novotel, Bechtel and L’Oreal, permission has been obtained for an extensive replanting and landscaping of several planted areas along Shepherds Bush Road and Hammersmith Roadthe centre of Hammersmith. The areas will be completely stripped and redesigned to incorporate beautiful new displays of plants and shrubbery.
The hanging baskets will soon be changed to incorporate a winter theme that should help brighten up the town centre during the coming months. Also, more baskets will be added to the area to enhance the streetscape and add more vibrancy to Hammersmith.

Benefit from Safetynet
HammersmithLondon will be taking over the running of the Safetynet Radio system in the town centre. We will be funding the capital cost of the radio handsets and base units for businesses to enhance the security of staff and premises in the BID area. Businesses will then pay a yearly subscription cost which will cover maintenance of the system and help ensure sustainability.
The radios themselves will feature a variety of functions and will be having bespoke channels for retailer, commercial sector and Pubs in the area. These separate systems will help address specific issues regarding security for each sector within Hammersmith and create further cohesion of the business community.
… and Pubwatch
HammersmithLondon will re-launch Pubwatch scheme as part of its Safe and Secure program of initiatives. Pubwatch will host meetings of representatives from local leisure establishments with the intention of cementing relationships and sharing important information relating to anti-social behaviour in the area.
Help make Hammersmith Green
As part of a wider Green Strategy for Hammersmith a steering group has been formed between HammersmithLondon, TFL and the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham to help businesses in Hammersmith to manage and create travel plans for businesses and individual employees.
Implementing a workplace travel plan needs a better understanding of all our travel needs and help to support a shift towards walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing is on its way not only benefiting our personal welfare but also the local environment helping to make Hammersmith a better place to work, live and visit.
