HammersmithLondon will be working to clean and freshen up the streetscape of the BID area making it a more attractive and welcoming place. The initiatives will target specific unpleasant areas as well as improving the general cleanliness of central Hammersmith.

We will deliver the following projects:

Auditing of cleaning standards
Through an outside agency, the BID will be undertaking regular comprehensive environmental audits of the streetscape.  The information obtained will be used to target our funding as well as being fed back to the Council in order to keep tighter control over the quality of their services.

Clean up activities
HammersmithLondon will fund clean up activates in the BID area in response to recommendations of the regular environmental audits.

Following their successful trial in neighbouring areas, a series of chewing gum and cigarette butt disposal units will be introduced and maintained to reduce the harmful effect of chewing gum and cigarette waste on the streets.

Floral displays
Year-round seasonal flowers will be installed in hanging baskets all over Hammersmith town centre to add colour and vibrancy to the streetscape and give greater identity to the town centre.

Anti-litter campaign
There will be a heightened focus on reducing the impact of litter in the area by spearheading a campaign to tackle this problem.
